Equipment and rule updates
A referee meeting was recently held with our 2012 team of refs and I just wanted to highlight a few key points regarding equipment and rules (listed on our website) for the upcoming season.
Equipment 1. Full hockey equipment and CSA approved helmets are mandatory. This includes unaltered shoulder pads (with caps/cups on the shoulders). 2. Facial visors, mouth guards and neck protectors are highly recommended. Any player under the age of 18 must wear a full face shield (CSA approved). 3. Goaltenders must wear CSA approved helmet and face and protection at the back of the head. The new modern cats eye mask will be allowed only on a new style CSA approved helmet.
Uniforms 1. A team must wear hockey jerseys of the same colour, markings and with permanently adhered numbers to the jersey. Taped-on numbers are not acceptable. Teams will have one month to comply from the start of the season or will be fined $50.
Alcohol and Chewing Tobacco 1. Tobacco and alcohol is prohibited without exception. As per league rules, failure to abide by this rule results in a $100 team fine for a first offence and expulsion from the league for a second offence. For teams that want to enjoy a beverage after the game, please use your league discount with our title sponsor The Canadian Brewhouse or find other options. Your cooperation on this matter is much appreciated.
Suspensions
And just a notice regarding rosters, please update your team pages if you have any changes - let me know if you have any players to delete. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Terry |

Take precautions, avoid theft Please take the following precautions to avoid thefts from happening in the locker rooms: 1. Ensure both doors to your locker room are locked when there are not players in the room. Teams can pick up a dressing room key at the main entrance desk. Teams must sign out a key by leaving a name and phone number. 2. Avoid leaving valuables such as keys and wallets unattended in the locker room. As an option, teams may want to store all their wallets and keys together in a knapsack and then bring that bag onto the bench where it is always in players' view. 3. Use the small coin lockers located by the team bench to store small valuables. 4. Theft happens in the parking lot, too. Avoid leaving valuables in your car. 5: (NEW) If you are expecting players to show up late to games, still ensure that your door is locked. Late players are to report to the front desk, where a staff member will come with you to unlock the door. Thanks, Jesse Diachuk |
